'River of Light' speaks about the inner and outer waters we experience in our lives. The song is an ode to the living waters of our planet that nourish and sustain us as well as to the emotions that move us from the inside out.

The song title is inspired by a beautiful book titled 'Drinking from the River of Light' by Mark Nepo. In his book, Nepo refers to a passage from the 'The Divina Commedia' by Dante Alighieri. In his Canto Number 30, Dante writes about a river of light that emerges in his eyesight as two banks of bright light with beautiful spring 'gem' flowers next to it. He is then asked to drink from the river of light with his eyes, as he wishes to understand more about the nature of reality. The moment he drinks from the river, his view is transformed and he sees Paradise in front of him.


Essentially, this is what 'River of Light' is about. It is a prayer in the form of a song, asking the river of light to clarify our perception and see that where we thought we had been separated from love, we were actually always held and cherished. It is simply so that sometimes we need to travel through the night in order to see the light again. In times of darkness we can often feel alone and with this song I wish to create a loving reminder that we are not ass we are collectively on a journey of seeing and allowing more light to enter us.
