Half​-​Ocean Girl

This song is very dear to my heart and it has made a magical journey from the southwest coast of Portugal where I first wrote it three years ago. I received a beautiful book with poetry by Nikita Gill at the time, with this one poem that touched me deeply and felt like a remembrance of a part of my soul as well as a message for future mermaids to come. It goes like this:


Listen to me, you are a half ocean girl,

with wild that you have still to unlock from your soul.

No man can help you discover who you are,

this is a thing you must do on your own.


Chase your adventures, face your breaking,

it’s the pain that will teach you how to make yourself whole.

The water, and the wild have never forgotten you

and in them you will always have a home.


Become the thing your blood demands,

a Siren Queen ready to take her throne.

'Half-Ocean Girl' arrived, inspired by these words and the Atlantic oceanside of Portugal, the waves whispering to me a story of a mermaid, of those beings who are half-human and half-sea creatures, deeply connected to the magical (under)water world.

May this song bring to you the healing frequencies of the deep waters and the remembrance of the magical water being that you are.
